Elder Jerry Herron hails from the city of Warren, Ohio, the 7th of 11 children born to District Missionary Lethonia Herron and the late Peter C. Herron.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the U. of Cincinnati and also attended Central Michigan University and Saginaw Valley Bible Institute concentrating on studies in Business and Church Administration. Elder Herron was certified in Production and Inventory Management by obtaining CPIM accreditation from the American Production and Inventory Control Society. He has also participated in numerous other professional societies including the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, The National Society of Black Engineers, The American Chemical Society, and the National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers. Elder Herron has also participated in numerous community efforts such as Adopt-a-School programs and mentorships aimed at improving the efficacy of diverse students in the areas of science and math.
Elder Herron was converted at an early age as his growth as a Christian was nurtured under the auspices of his late grandfather Supt. David Howard Sr., Pastor of St. James COGIC in Warren, Ohio. His spiritual and ministerial development was further sharpened by his association and participation in numerous successful ministries including those of the late Bishop Marvin C. Pryor, Saginaw, Michigan, the late Bishop William Morgan James, Cincinnati, Ohio, Bishop Shelton Bady, Houston, Texas, and his current covering Bishop David L Herron, Warren, Ohio. He has served the church in numerous capacities including associate pastor, church administrator, Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent, Christian Education Director, conference seminar instructor, Altar Workers and Follow-up Ministry Coordinator, Jurisdictional Platform Chairman, and many others. He is currently serving as the Pastor of Triumph Christian Center Church of God in Christ in Fairfield, Ohio. God is the only person he loves more than his loving wife Sharon, their three children Kiana, Kourtney, Kedrin and granddaughter Kennedy.
